Services available from Jumpstart Psychology

Individual Counselling - this is the most common service provided.  Clients come for individual sessions to work on and explore the issues that are important to them.  Individual counselling is available for children, adolescents and adults.  To find out more information about what happens in an individual counselling session please refer to the frequently asked questions page.

Family Counselling - For some people, issues are effecting more than just themselves and it is helpful to have other family members involved.  This is often the case for small children who come in for counselling.  In some instances it is just as important to help parents and carers learn new ways of supporting their child who is struggling with issues as it is for the child themselves to recieve counselling.

Psycho-educational and theraputic groups - Groups can be another important way of working with people to develop new skills and strategies for dealing with the issues they are facing.  All the groups conducted at Jumpstart Psychology include:
  • educational information
  • sharing and creating new strategies for coping
  • resources and practice tasks
  • peer support and resourcing
